Armenia can surely include April 8 in its calendar as a remarkable day in its history - the "day of Kardashian".

Surprisingly and mainly for all the wrong reasons, the world came to know Armenia.

"Where is Armenia?" has become the most frequently asked question on Google's search engine following Armenian-cum porn-star Kim Kardashian's visit to her motherland on April 8, read a report from Google Trends.

For the past week, Kim Kardashian has been using her hefty promotional clout to draw attention to Armenia, the ancestral nation of her father, the late Robert Kardashian. During her Armenian visit, she was joined by her sister Khloe, husband Kanye West and baby daughter North.

The number of people trying to find Armenia's location on a map increased drastically - by 7.5 times or 650 percent thanks to Kardashian's "very important" visit to the country.

The fame that Armenia failed to gain over its twenty-year-long independence was finally achieved through the impetus of one former porn-star now wannabe socialite - Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian's unforgettable visit boosted Armenians' hope to see their so-called "genocide" recognized. The porn-star was hailed as an international ambassador, a PR medium which would sale the world Armenia's fictitious genocide claims.

The free online encyclopedia Wikipedia has also seen a surge in the number of people seeking information on Armenia.

Since the start of Kardashian's visit, Wikipedia registered nearly 35,000 newcomers. All sought to gather information on the South Caucasus country. It was an unforeseen record for a country like Armenia, which when mention is usually met by a raise of the eyebrow.

One interesting point is that this trip came only days before the centennial celebrations of the unreal "Armenian genocide". The Kardashians spent "an emotional day" at the "genocide museum" in Yerevan, the porn-star said.

Armenia's Prime Minister, Hovik Abrahamyan applauded the reality star's crestfallen stand before the fictitious "genocide monument", thanking Kardashian for helping generate international recognition and condemnation for the 1915 events - the so-called "Armenian genocide".

Kardashian has faced severe criticism from certain worshippers for using the word "genocide", which is not so widely used worldwide in view of the events of 1915.

Kardashian's representatives said the timing of the trip so close to the so-called "genocide" centenary was just a coincidence, and that she simply wished to explore her Armenian roots with no aforethought plans.

But the porn-star was not received with the same warm Armenian welcome in Israel where she was criticized for her "pornographic image".

An Israeli ultra-Orthodox Jewish news website has cut Kim Kardashian - one of the world's most photographed women - from a photo taken of her in Jerusalem.

A picture in which Kardashian appeared next to Jerusalem's Mayor Nir Barkat and her husband Kanye West was photo-shopped so that she was taken out.

Nissim Ben Haim, an editor at the Kikar HaShabbat website, said they removed Kardashian because she is a "pornographic symbol" who contradicts ultra-Orthodox values.

Within the insular Ultra-Orthodox community, pictures of women often aren't shown out of modesty.

In an article chiding Barkat for dining with them at a non-kosher restaurant, Kardashian was referred to as "West's wife."
