Iran's FM to join World Economic Forum

Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian foreign minister has left Tehran on January 22 for Davos, Switzerland to take part in the 45th annual summit of World Economic Forum (WEF), IRNA news agency reported.

Zarif is scheduled to meet with his US counterpart John Kerry on the sidelines of the forum to continue negotiations over the Islamic Republic’s disputed nuclear program.

He met Kerry twice in mid-January in Geneva and Paris as the two sides seek to speed up the negotiations to reach a comprehensive agreement on Iran 's nuclear program.

World leaders from political, social and business backgrounds would attend the annual meeting of the WEF. The focal theme for this year's annual meeting is “The New Global Context”.

The meeting would discuss all aspects including those of security, stability, need for increased cooperation, innovation and related aspects.

The forum kicked will continue until January 24.
