The Georgian and Swedish defense ministries signed an agreement on the exchange and protection of classified information November 13.

The Head of the Georgian Defense Ministry's International Relations and Euro-Atlantic Integration Department David Nardaya and his Swedish counterpart, Colonel Peter Frederickson inked the bilateral document.

The two diplomats mulled the relations between Georgia and Sweden through bilateral consultations. The Georgian side once more stressed the importance of the outcomes of the NATO Summit in Wales.

Nardaya and Frederickson outlined the areas of cooperation between the two countries in 2015.

The parties expressed their hope to successfully continue the existing defense cooperation between Georgia and Sweden.

Meanwhile, the NATO website said the Swedish military were actively engaged in the Georgia IV Trust Fund Project, which aimed to locate and eradicate unexploded landmines and make the country's territory safer. The project also targeted to eliminate mine danger in Georgia's areas, which remained unstable since the war between Russia and Georgia on August in 2008.
