Iran nods head to Syria talks invitation

Iran accepts a last-minute invitation by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to attend a long-delayed Syrian peace conference set to take place in Switzerland this week, officials say, dpa reported.

"We will take part and hope that the conference will lead to an internal, peaceful solution to the Syria crisis," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marsieh Afcham says.
