09 December 2013 [14:05] - TODAY.AZ
Iran is ready to mass-produce of its three home-made radars, Iranian Defence Minister Hossein Dehghan said, ISNA reported on Dec. 9.

Commenting on Iran's achievements in military technology Dehghan said that the defence ministry tries to develop Iran's defence power to reach an effective deterrence point.

"Iran has increased accuracy and power of its long-range missiles," he said, adding that circular error probability of the missiles has been reduced to 2 meters.

Dehghan also said that defence technology researches are among priorities of the defence ministry.

Iran has recently stated that it has reached self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defence systems.

Tehran established an arms development programme during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s to counter the weapons embargo imposed on it by the US and its Western allies.

Since 1992, Iran has manufactured its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles, radars, boats, submarines and fighter planes.

Iran also unveiled its first domestically-manufactured long-range Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in 2010.
