21 January 2013 [18:30] - TODAY.AZ
Georgia has always played a stabilizing role in the South Caucasus, President Mikheil Saakashvili said at a joint briefing with the President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) Jean-Claude Mignon at PACE Winter Session.

Georgian president noted that his country wants to have good relations with neighboring states.

"Georgia maintains good relations both with Azerbaijan and Armenia. I would like to note that these are not just words, as in recent years good relations are observed not only between the governments, but also between the nations. During these years, our people have become closer to each other. Thanks to this, we got to know each other and existing stereotypes were eliminated. Similar process is taking place in Azerbaijan. I am an optimist, but we will have to overcome some obstacles, "Saakashvili said.
