Tanker catches fire in Caspian - UPDATE

There is no "Engineer Nazarov" tanker on the balance of the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (CASPAR), Tuesday in CSC.

At the moment, this vessel ("Engineer Nazarov") is on fire in Makhachkala. Rescue ship has already evacuated part of the crew from the burning vessel.

According to Interfax, six crew members were evacuated, while the rest of the crew is on the vessel, which caught fire.

The fire occurred on board of "Engineer Nazarov" vessel in the Caspian Sea on Tuesday, a source in the defence and law enforcement agencies of the North Caucasus federal district told RIA Novosti over the telephone.

"The information about the fire in the driver's cabin was received at 13.10 (Moscow time). Tanker is bound for Makhachkala," the source said. Other details are being specified.
