‘Russia develops military infrastructure in Abkhazia and South Ossetia’

The Georgian Foreign Ministry accused Russia of targeting the militarization of the ‘occupied territories’. "Russia is constantly developing military infrastructure in the occupied territories of Georgia - Abkhazia and South Ossetia, attacking the character enters the equipment and is constantly trying to permanently provoke tensions both in Georgia and around the Black Sea region,” the ministry’s statement reads.

It pointed out that during a meeting with foreign attaché in December 2011 the Russian General Staff chief Nikolai Makarov said that in September 2012 is planned strategic command-staff exercise "Kavkaz-2012".

The teachings will  be held in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. They will be attended not only the forces of the Defense Ministry, Interior Ministry and FSS, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, FGS and other uniformed services involving all types of intelligence - electronic, aerospace, as well as  by unmanned aerial vehicles and weapons of high precision.

The Ministry calls upon the international community to pay attention to the fact that Russian foreign policy has not changed and Moscow continues aggressive actions, including a demonstration of military force. "Russia is a source of tension and negative phenomena in the international arena."
