Baku considers Azerbaijan's election to the UN Security Council as a victory of the country's diplomacy.
"Azerbaijan's election to the UN Security Council is a great victory of the country's diplomacy," Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Political Analysis and Information Provision Department head Elnur Aslanov told journalists on Tuesday.
He stressed that this victory is a result of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's policy, work of Azerbaijani diplomacy, as well as Azerbaijan's policy in the regional and international arena.
"Azerbaijan is a leader country which has gained authority on global level," Aslanov said.
"Azerbaijan's participation in such an authoritative international organization as the UN Security Council will become another tribune to bring the country's fair position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the world community."
