President of Azerbaijan receives Serbian FM

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Serbia`s foreign minister Vuk Jeremic.

The President praised the Azerbaijan-Serbia political relations.  President Aliyev recalled his Serbia visit, saying it marked an important stage in development of the bilateral relations.

The Head of State stressed the importance of reciprocal visits, and noted there were good opportunities to develop the two countries` relationship.

FM Jeremic extended Serbian leader Boris Tadic`s greetings to the Azerbaijani President.

He called the Azerbaijani leader`s Serbia visit historic, adding it marked a new page in development of the relations between the two countries and peoples.

The FM said Azerbaijan and Serbia enjoyed strong political ties. Jeremic said he was visiting Azerbaijan under the Serbian President`s instructions, adding he will meet Azerbaijani officials for talks aimed at developing the bilateral relations in a variety of fields.

President Aliyev asked the Foreign Minister to pass his greetings on to Serbian leader Boris Tadic.

Azerbaijani President also received Vatican`s outgoing Apostolic Nuncio Claudio Gugerotti.

The Nuncio recalled his presenting credentials to Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev ten years ago, saying the meeting made a strong impression on him.

Gugerotti said he witnessed rapid development processes during his tenure in Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev praised Azerbaijan`s relations with Vatican, saying they were developing successfully.

The Head of State lauded Gugerotti`s contribution to developing the Azerbaijan-Vatican relations.
