"Azerbaijan's socioeconomic policy ensures sustainable economic development"

The socioeconomic policy implemented in Azerbaijan ensures sustainable economic development, Azerbaijani Deputy Economic Development Minister Niyazi Safarov said during a conference on the modernization of Azerbaijan's national economy in Baku.

"This is clearly seen in our macroeconomic development statistics," Safarov said.

He added that today a major task is to diversify the country's economy and maintain sustainable development. Modernizing the economy is an urgent issue.

Economic Reforms Research Institute Director Vilayat Veliyev said investments in the economy are increasing. Increased domestic investments have also been recently observed.

"This means that more advanced technologies are being imported," he said. "Our entrepreneurs have begun to use them. This increases the innovativeness of local production."

He said developing human capital is an very urgent issue today. The government is taking important actions in this direction. The necessary legal base and infrastructure are being created.

"The main issue is cooperation between entrepreneurs and scientific and practical institutions," he said. "So, it is important to undertake various events to establish these relations."
