20 December 2010 [18:20] - TODAY.AZ
The Russian Embassy today awarded the Azerbaijani journalists for the preparation of high-professional materials about the Russian-Azerbaijani relations.

In his opening speech, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin thanked the Azerbaijani journalists for the attention that they always paid to the topic of the Russian-Azerbaijani relations, events held at the Russian Embassy and Russia's policy in general.

He stressed the importance of journalists' professional approach, in which freedom of speech should primarily be based on respect for the facts and reality.

"I promise that such meetings will be traditional. It is important for us how Russia looks in the Azerbaijani press. Many of you write about Russia and do it well and professionally, respectfully and objectively," Dorokhin said.

During the event, fourteen Azerbaijani journalists have been awarded Diplomas for "The preparation of high-professional materials on the Russian-Azerbaijani relations in the Azerbaijani media", as well as incentive bonuses.

The event was attended by the leaders and journalists from leading media outlets of Azerbaijan.

"Relations with Azerbaijan are worthy for Russia and this year we are proud to look back on those agreements that were reached, for example, the border issues are fully addressed," Dorokhin said.
