President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan held a closed meeting with the leaders of political parties as part of six-week domestic political consultations envisaged by the protocols initialed between Armenia and Turkey.

Leaders of 52 political parties of the 64 invited to the consultations attended the meeting, Panarmenian.net reported.
In his opening speech, Sargsyan said that he learned both positive and negative opinions and was aware of concerns among the society.
“I am also concerned with the protocols and see its risk. We have to discuss and to understand what we put under the risk and what advantage we will take. We have many political, economic and historic problems with Turkey, and we need to solve them. I think we took the way of solution of the problems. If we want to normalize relations with Turkey indeed, we have to make joint efforts toward that”.
Sargsyan said there was no political force in the country to be against the normalization of relations with Turkey.
