Ilham Aliyev: “Azerbaijan will do its best to avoid Cyprus Turks from isolation”

Azerbaijan will open its offices in the North Cyprus with different companies, including tourism companies. Flights will be opened to North Cyprus from Azerbaijan and other necessary measures will be taken.

I think it is advisable for Azerbaijani delegation composed of businessmen to visit North Cyprus. Regrettably, the referendum held in Cyprus didn’t justify our hopes. However, we shall never consent to existence of such situation regarding our Turkish compatriots living in Cyprus. Cyprus Turks should be rescued from this isolation.

An important decision has been adopted in the Organization of Islamic Conference related to it, I thinks this advanced step taken. Other international organizations should join this initiative in future and this isolation should be put an end. It is sure to happen. Azerbaijan will do everything it can in this case”.
