Azerbaijani, Turkish FMs meet in Baku

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met during the 7th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS-Turkic Council) in Baku, Trend reports on Oct. 14 referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The gratification with the development of fraternal ties and strategic partnership between the two countries was expressed during the meeting. The ministers emphasized the importance of cooperation based on strategic partnership, good neighborliness, mutual respect and trust in terms of maintaining regional and global stability and security.

The parties exchanged the views on important projects being implemented with the participation of the two countries and stressed that the regional projects being carried out on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan and Turkey will facilitate the competitive transportation.

The views on the situation regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the ongoing processes in the Middle East region were exchanged. The importance of the policy being pursued by both countries to ensure regional security was emphasized.

The parties also discussed the issues of cooperation within the Turkic Council and other international organizations and exchanged the views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
