Baku is not only a city at the junction of civilizations and religions, but also a place of their interpenetration, the well-known Russian historian and political scientist Oleg Kuznetsov told reporters Oct. 25 in Baku.

Everyone understands that such an event as the Baku Humanitarian Forum can be held nowhere else in the world, he added.

He noted that the spirit of mutual understanding is present and the political conjuncture is absent at the Baku Humanitarian Forum.

“Everyone knows and understands the content and significance of the Baku process. Everyone understands what this [event] means for humanity. From a humanitarian point of view, Baku has a planetary significance. I liked the speech of the Secretary General of ISESCO, who said that not an inter-civilizational dialogue, but an intergovernmental global dialogue is taking place here", the analyst said.

Kuznetsov believes this is an indicator of the nature and atmosphere of the event.

"I am very pleased to be invited once again to participate in such an important international forum. I hope that we will be able to give not only some political, intellectual recommendations, but also practical recommendations to international organizations and countries that are interested in establishing intercultural dialogue, development of human dimension, development of humanitarian values, " Kuznetsov said.

Today, the VI International Humanitarian Forum dedicated to the theme entitled as "Shaping a New World and a New Humanity: Creativity and Human Development", was launched in Baku. The main topic of the forum should be perceived as support for the human capital development policy of Azerbaijan.

The forum’s topic will allow demonstrating at the national and international level the country's model and strategy for turning economic development into human capital. The current two-day forum is attended by 581 people, including 416 foreign guests from 86 countries and 24 international organizations.

The International Humanitarian Forum is a prestigious event that brings together prominent statesmen from various countries, Nobel Prize winners in various fields of science and leaders of reputable international organizations, in particular the representatives of the political, scientific and cultural elite of the world to hold wide-ranging dialogues, exchange views and conduct discussions on global issues.

The initiators of the forum, which has been held since 2010, are the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia.
