Second stage of liberated Jojug Marjanli’s restoration nearing completion

The second stage of restoration work carried out in the Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrayil region, construction of 100 more houses and other infrastructure are nearing completion, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov said.

Hasanov, who also chairs the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, made the remarks while addressing the Committee board meeting on October 19.

Calling the restoration of Jojug Marjanli the beginning of the Great Return, he noted that the second stage of restoration work that is carried out in the village is implemented on the instruction and under control of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“Most importantly, as a result of the president’s successful ideological policy, the whole world is informed about the Jojug Marjanli village, its occupation and destruction, and of the fact that the village has already been liberated from occupation and is being restored,” Hasanov said.

Jojug Marjanli village was liberated by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from the Armenian occupation in April 2016. In late January 2017, President Ilham Aliyev ordered to restore the village.

During the first phase of restoration, 50 private houses, a school, mosque, electric substation, hydrometeorological station, highway and other relevant infrastructure were constructed in Jojug Marjanli. The village was provided with gas, electricity and water supply.

The second phase of construction and restoration work and work on improvement and creation in Jojug Marjanli started on June 15 this year, and currently construction of 100 more new houses is ongoing in the village.
