Azerbaijan, Bolivia agree on partial visa liberalization

Azerbaijan and Bolivia signed an agreement on abolition of the visa regime for holders of diplomatic and service passports.

The agreement was undersigned by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Foreign Minister of Bolivia Fernando Uanakuni Mamani, who is visiting Baku, on August 18.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the two ministers held a one-on-one meeting and later a meeting in an expanded format. Issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation, synchronization of the positions of the two countries on various issues in the international arena, as well as regional and world issues were discussed.

During his stay in Baku, Mamani is expected to meet other officials of the country.

Mamani’s visit is the first visit of the Bolivian FM to Azerbaijan, which shows the growing influence of Azerbaijan in the Latin American region in recent years. So, recently embassies of Chile, Costa Rica and Peru have opened in Azerbaijan.

Also, the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra will host the next summit of the gas-exporting countries on November 20-24. Bolivia has invited Azerbaijan to participate in the summit.
