Next consultations on delimitation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Georgia will be held in autumn in Tbilisi, a diplomatic source told Trend on July 25.

During the consultations, the sides are expected to consider the issues of the state border crossing and to continue discussions on the disputed sections.

Both Azerbaijan and Georgia intend to complete negotiations on delimitation of the state border this year. The previous meeting of the Commission took place in April this year in Baku.

Earlier, two countries’ foreign ministries stated the need to complete this process. The Chairman of the State Commission for delimitation and demarcation of state border with Georgia from the Azerbaijani side is the Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov.

The length of the state border between Azerbaijan and Georgia is 480 kilometers. State Commissions of the two countries have already agreed on the most part of the borderline. Various sources state that 66-70 percent of the borderline is already agreed.

Earlier Azerbaijan and Russia completed the delimitation of state border. Currently, the countries hold discussions on demarcation.
