The trial, which began on the basis of an appeal by the Russian Justice Ministry in connection with the liquidation of the state registration of All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress, aroused deep concern among the Azerbaijani community living in Russia, compatriots living abroad, as well as the entire Azerbaijani public.

The court session is scheduled for May 15.The All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress allegedly violated the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Experts say that this step aims at harming relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.

Professor of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Political Sciences Elchin Ahmedov considers that the attempt to liquidate the Congress is the result of joint activity of anti-Azerbaijani forces and the Armenian lobby.

“It is aimed at harming relations between the two countries,” he added.

Ahmedov noted that until now the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress did not do anything that would contradict the laws or the national interests of Russia. "On the contrary, this structure has always been actively involved in the socio-political and cultural life of Russia, and all this should be taken into account," he said.

MP Elman Nasirov views this action as a shadow over the dynamically developing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Russia.

"Relations between the two countries are developing in many ways: Azerbaijan and Russia have the same positions on fundamental issues, Azerbaijan has never joined the sanctions imposed by some countries, in particular the United States, on Russia, even though, for these reasons, these countries exerted pressure on Azerbaijan," he said.

All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress has always contributed to the development of Azerbaijani-Russian relations, helped to develop relations between peoples, institutions of civil society of both states, according to Nasirov.

“We cannot allow the intentions of anti-Azerbaijani circles and pro-Armenian forces to be realized. We believe that the Russian government will intervene in this matter and anti-Azerbaijani circles will not achieve their goals," he said.

Unfortunately, certain forces in Russia, looking for insignificant flaws in the organizational activities of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress, do not stop trying to create conditions for the liquidation of this large Russian social organization.

Earlier, Azerbaijan’s Russian community, which unites more than 120,000 Russian citizens of Azerbaijan, expressed serious concern over the long-standing situation surrounding the Russian public organization All-Russian Azerbaijan Congress.
