The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) condemned the ceasefire violations by Armenian armed forces in various areas of the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, and the escalation of tension on border with Azerbaijan.

ISESCO stated that what was done by the Armenian forces represents a flagrant violation of international law and an attack on a member state.

The Organization called on Armenia to return the occupied territory of Azerbaijan.

Armenia broke out a lengthy war against Azerbaijan laying territorial claims on its South Caucasus neighbor. Since a war in the early 1990s, Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and over 1 million were displaced as a result of the large-scale hostilities.

Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding districts.

Moreover, the Armenian army constantly violates truce and targets Azerbaijani soldiers, and even civilians ever since the ceasefire agreement was reached between the parties.

Despite Azerbaijan has urged the Armenian side to sit at the negotiations table, Yerevan has constantly refused to act in a sensible way.
