The sixth meeting of the Azerbaijan-UAE intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation has been postponed, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the UAE Dashgin Shikarov told Trend.

The UAE government offers to hold the meeting in January 2017. The exact dates of the meeting will be specified later through diplomatic channels.

Earlier, it was planned to hold the meeting on Nov. 28-29 in Abu Dhabi.

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev and the UAE Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri are co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission.

It is expected that the meeting’s agenda will include discussions on prospects of development of the cooperation in trade and economy, in particular mutual investments, cooperation in transportation, information and communications, tourism and other spheres.

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the UAE stood at $50.6 million in January-July 2016, an increase by more than 40 percent as compared to the same period of 2015, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
