President Aliyev visits Azerbaijan’s Gabala region [UPDATE]

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev visited the country’s Gabala district on August 10.

The president visited the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of the Gabala city and laid flowers at the monument.

Head of Gabala District Executive Authority Sabuhi Abdullayev informed President Aliyev about the work carried out around the monument and in general in the district over the recent years.

As part of the visit President Aliyev attended the opening of a new administrative building of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Gabala district branch, Azertac reported.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the building and reviewed the conditions created here.

The President was informed that the construction of the two-storey building started in October, 2014.

A bust to Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev, and photo stands reflecting the activities of the national leader as well as chairman of YAP President Ilham Aliyev were installed here.

The building also houses a 60-seat conference hall, as well as the offices of YAP Gabala district branch Women`s Council and Youth Union.

YAP Gabala district branch has 6,145 members, including 2,525 women and 2,343 young people.

President Aliyev also attended the opening of a kindergarten in Gabala, the construction of which was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the inauguration of the kindergarten.

The 100-seat kindergarten occupies an area of 3,300 square meters. Photo stands reflecting life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev, as well as President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva`s attention to children were installed in the two-storey building. All conditions have been created here. The building houses an entertainment, sports and game zone, music and other training and teaching rooms. The green areas were laid out around the kindergarten.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of Gabala regional “ASAN xidm?t” center of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the official inauguration of the four-storey building of the center, which is located on Elchin Karimov Street in the vicinity of the city`s main infrastructure facilities.

A bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev was installed in the building.

Pres?dent Ilham Aliyev pushed the button launching the center, and then toured it. The head of state was told that the center will serve a total of 902,435 citizens residing in Gabala, Balakan, Zaqatala, Qakh, Shaki, Oghuz, Ismayilli, Aghsu, Shamakhi and Qobustan districts.

The President familiarized himself with new projects here, including “ASAN wifi”, “ASAN VISA” portal, “ASAN i-LAB” innovation laboratory, “BA?LA”, and “i-LAB store”.

The head of state was also informed of “Ready 1.0-ready document” device which allows to send notifications to citizens – through SMS or e-mail – when their documents are processed. The new projects also include survival bracelets, and “Healthy life platform – bag and portal”.

The center will employ 200 people, including 45 volunteers.

Pres?dent Ilham Aliyev then had a meeting with representatives of general public of Gabala and staff of the center.

Then photos were taken.

President Aliyev also attended the opening of “Gabala” Park and Boulevard Complex after reconstruction.

The head of state was informed that the construction of the complex started in May 2013.

The complex occupies a total area of 10 hectares and sits on both shores of the Garachay River.

Eight bridges and nine fountains were built in the complex. There are also social facilities, an open-air café, a tea house, and a merry-go-round.

A 3.5-km walking lane was laid out in the complex.

A three-storey 350-seat restaurant is under construction here. There is also a parking lot in the complex.

After President Aliyev attended the opening of “Qafqaz Tufandag Mountain Resort” in Gabala.

The construction of the hotel started in 2014. The five-storey hotel occupies a total area of 4 hectares, with the area of the construction site being 3,400 square meters.

The hotel has 50 rooms. There are a 100-seat pub, a 400-seat cafe, a 500-seat steak and wine house, the 200-seat “Duruca” restaurant, and the 500-seat “Qabala” cafe in the complex. The hotel will also offer alpine skiing services.

The hotel will create 250 permanent jobs.

He got acquainted with the tourism and sport infrastructure projects that are being implemented in Gabala.

The head of state was informed that “Qafqaz Aqua Land” hotel is under construction in the district. It will consist of 226 rooms and occupy a total area of 2.5 hectares.

The president was told that the construction of “Qafqaz Diamond Hotel” also continues.

Four pools will be built here under the project.

The head of state was also informed that 66 villas were built under “Qabala Golf Villas” project. The complex also features two three-storey 24-apartment buildings, a SPA and entertainment center, and a kindergarten.

The head of state gave relevant instructions and recommendations.

President Aliyev further attended the opening of the Nohurgishlag-Tuntul-Yengije highway after the major overhaul as part of his visit to Gabala region.

Chairman of Azeravtoyol Saleh Mammadov informed the head of state about reconstruction work. He said the two-lane road, which is 12.2 km in length and 6 meters in width, was covered with a new lay of asphalt and concrete.

The president was informed that 113-km long 12 water pipes were built and reconstructed here. A bridge was built in the road’s section in Tuntul village. Bus stations were built and traffic signs were installed along the road.

The highway, which links 3 residential areas in Gabala district with the total population of 7,000 people, provides access to the Garamaryam-Ismayilli-Shaki highway.

President Aliyev also viewed the Laza outpost of Shaki Border Unit as part of his visit to Gabala.

Chairman of the State Border Service, Commander of the Border Troops Elchin Guliyev reported to President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. He said the outpost is situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters.

The outpost is supplied with necessary technical equipment, arms and state-of-the-art devices. Troops here use Garabagh horses and specially-trained dogs.

The outpost includes barracks, a canteen, a gym, a leisure room, a training ground, and special buildings.

There are 22 residential buildings for officers, sergeants and re-enlisted servicemen.
