Well done strategic Armenian trick

Armenia commemorates the alleged "Armenian genocide" on April 24 each year.

On the eve of the 100-years anniversary of the "genocide", Armenia tried to achieve more success by promoting it worldwide.

The long and tighten story of the Armenian “genocide”, which allegedly occurred some hundred years ago - 1915 - has been a source of constant disputes and tensions between Turkey and several western countries, in particular the U.S. and France, both home to large Armenian Diasporas.

The Armenian lobby, spread all over the world, has raised calls for the adoption of the Resolution on the Armenian Genocide every year, bothering strong world powers while citing complete historical fallacies to support its illegitimate claims.

The very nature and scale of the killings remain highly contentious nearly a century after they took place. Turkey accepts that many Armenians died in partisan fighting in 1915, but denies that up to 1.5 million were killed and that it constituted an act of genocide - a term used by many western historians and foreign parliaments.

The Turkish government has proposed an international commission of impartial and independent experts with access to all relevant archives to determine the events which happened in 1915. Armenians are balking, perhaps because they are skeptical of their own figures and accusations.

The very thought of some "research" and "discussions" is offensive to the Armenian people, and humanity is obliged to accept on faith the Armenian version of events.

The nation looking in the past turns back to its future

It becomes easier to draw conclusions after looking objectively at Armenia’s current situation.

Armenia is in a very poor economic situation. It suffers from internal troubles and without any economic potential, it is entirely dependent on "handouts" from foreign countries.

Turkey has warned that it will not open its borders with Armenia as long as Yerevan will falsify history facts. And this has led to a sharp economic decline in Armenia.

Armenia is a country that does not take part in any significant regional projects due to its baseless claims to the regional countries. Moreover Armenia has also a big migration problem - people are massively leaving the country. A catastrophic future awaits Armenia if the trend spirals downward and a serious remedy is not found to stop or at least slow down the exodus.

By putting the emphasis on "historical grievances" and not being able to establish normal relations with its neighbors, particularly Turkey and Azerbaijan, Armenia remains in its current "clamped" position, which makes it impossible to develop the economy, or participate in the integration process.

Considering all these factors, it is more or less clear that Armenia has nothing else to do but to make complains to more fortunate countries.

What next?

At first glance it seems odd that Armenia does not have any desire to establish relations with Turkey. However, it turns out Armenia’s behavior is very rational indeed.

Cash-strapped Armenia is merely trying to force Turkey into recognizing to a crime it did not commit and disburse compensation to the state.

Yerevan is after money. It wants to abuse its so-called victimhood to pressure and force Ankara into paying its government huge sums of money in damages and repairs..

The official recognition of the "genocide" will certainly shake Turkey's international prestige, especially in many European countries, which for a long time did not want to accept Turkey as an EU member.

Armenia has created an elaborated new historical reality, hoping Turkey will play along.

Armenia is nothing but a grand con artist.
