Armenia tries to play victim card

Armenia has been relentless in its attempts to paint itself as the "innocent victim", the defenseless lamb which suffered by the hands of those more powerful, warned a top religious figure in Azerbaijan.

"Armenia does its best to deceive the world by selling its "genocide" fiction deliberately, putting itself in the victim position," Head of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh said.

He added the authorities in Armenia are claiming a fake "genocide", while the so-called ethnic cleansing in 1915 is but a work of fiction, a swindle.

In comments to local media, Sheikh of all Caucasus, Pashazadeh said Armenians were the one committing genocide. For the past two decades Armenia has committed great many crimes against the Azerbaijani people: pillaging and looting its religious and historical heritage, defiling its culture, and killing and oppressing its people.

"Armenia invaded 20 percent of Azerbaijan's historical and internationally recognized territory. Its troops committed unforeseen genocides against Azerbaijanis in the country's territory. Religious and cultural monuments in the occupied lands faced reckless annihilation by Armenians," he declared.

Speaking of the international community's inclination towards believing Armenia's lies, Pashazadeh warned that such reality only proved what double standards have come to prevail over world politics.

Sheikh's comments came simultaneously with the European Parliament's adoption of a resolution condemning the fallacious "Armenian genocide". The move by the EP faced harsh criticism in Azerbaijan; especially since the Kohjaly genocide has yet to be officially recognized.

Despite a mountain of factual proofs -- videos, photos and testimonies, the world has yet to wake up to the horrors and abominable crimes Armenia carried out against Azerbaijan.

Unlike Azerbaijan, Armenia has nothing but baseless fabricated lies to back its allegations of genocide. And yet the EP chose to stand by it.

Armenia's cries against Turkey are but the manifestation of a long standing ethnic hatred against the Turkish people. Even though Ankara invited Yerevan to team up and launch a comprehensive investigation into 1915 events, the latter turns down all calls for cooperation, preferring instead to retract behind its lies.

The Armenian authorities and diaspora claim that the predecessor of modern Turkey - the Ottoman Empire - carried out a "genocide" against Armenians in 1915 in Anatolia. They annually raise their voice, calling for the recognition of the unreal events of 1915, inviting the international community to unanimously blame Turkey for the actions of its predecessor.

As Armenia works to twist 1915 events and sell its "genocide" to the world, hoping every year to rewrite history to fits its delusions, its efforts backfired as more voices from across the globe have argued that Armenia did not indeed suffer a "genocide" and that, in fact, it faced no tougher time than other nations in the region.
