President Ilham Aliyev and President Mamnoon Hussain attended the Azerbaijani-Pakistani business forum (UPDATE)

The Azerbaijani-Pakistani business forum kicked off in Baku.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain attended the event.

The heads of state made speeches at the forum.

Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The forum, which brings together Azerbaijani and Pakistani officials, and nearly 100 businessmen from the fields of agriculture, industry, construction, healthcare, ICT and other areas, featured several presentations and speeches.

President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain has today arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit.

A guard of honor was arranged for the President of Pakistan at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport decorated with the national flags of the two countries.

Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and his spouse Begum Sahiba were welcomed by first Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov and other officials.

An official welcoming ceremony for President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been held.

A guard of honor was arranged for the distinguished guest in a square decorated with the national flags of the two countries.

The chief of the guard of honor reported to President Ilham Aliyev.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain.

National anthems of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan were played.

State and government officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan were introduced to President Mamnoon Hussain and members of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev.

The guard of honor marched in front of the heads of state to the accompaniment of a military march.

Following the official welcoming ceremony, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain have held a one-on-one meeting.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between the countries, which were based on friendship, cooperation and strategic partnership, in the political, economic, humanitarian and other areas. The parties expressed confidence that Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain`s official visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to the strengthening of the ties. It was noted that there were good prospects for the expansion of the cooperation between the two countries.

The sides also exchanged views over bilateral, regional and international issues.

After the one-on-one meeting, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain have held a meeting in an expanded format.

A ceremony of signing the Azerbaijani-Pakistani documents has been held after the meeting of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain in an expanded format.

President Ilham Aliyev and President Mamnoon Hussain signed the “Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan”.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov and Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Khalid Usman Gaiser signed the Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Extradition of Prisoners.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev and Special Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Amjad Hussain B. Sial signed “Cooperation Programme (2015-2017) between ADA University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Foreign Service Academy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan”.

After the ceremony of signing the documents, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain have made statements for the press.

A dinner reception has been hosted on behalf of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in honor of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain.

Azerbaijan`s first lady Mehriban Aliyeva and spouse of the President of Pakistan Begum Sahiba attended the reception.
