Mexico opens diplomatic representation in Baku

Diplomatic representation of Mexico has been established in Azerbaijan since this October, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

Charge d'Affaires of Mexico in Azerbaijan, Francisco Ernesto Romero Bock was received at the Foreign Ministry in this regard.

Azerbaijan attaches great importance to development of relations with Mexico.

Azerbaijan has already taken its worthy place in the world, so over the past few years Azerbaijan and Mexico are in talks for expanding cooperation in economic, cultural, tourism, humanitarian, and energy fields, as well as exchange of the experience.

Many documents were signed between the sides, including a Memorandum of Understanding on "Cooperation and inter-parliamentary dialogue". The document is aimed to serve as a legal basis for a new stage in the development of the two countries' inter-parliamentary relations.

Mexico recognized the independence of Azerbaijan on December 25, 1991. The diplomatic relations has been established between the two countries since February 1992.

Azerbaijani embassy was established in Mexico in October 2006 with a view to deepen friendship and cooperation relations existing between Azerbaijan and this region of the world.
