President Ilham Aliyev held number of meetings in Davos - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in Davos.

The French FM conveyed President Francois Hollande`s greetings to the Azerbaijani President.

They praised Azerbaijan-France relations, particularly cultural cooperation.

The activity of French companies in Azerbaijan was hailed as successful, and the Azerbaijani
President and the French FM stressed the importance of mutual investment making.

They said reciprocal visits had made a considerable contribution to developing the bilateral relations.

President Ilham Aliyev and FM Laurent Fabius pointed to good prospects for expanding Azerbaijan-France relations.

The Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was also discussed at the meeting.

President Ilham Aliyev asked the French FM to extend his greetings to Francois Hollande.

The event was opened by Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met President of Microsoft International Jean-Philippe Courtois in Davos.

They noted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Microsoft International had been developing successfully.

They also hailed the company`s activity and its projects in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan`s work to ensure software and intellectual property protection was praised at the meeting.

During the conversation, the role of Azerbaijan`s government in protection of Microsoft software copyright was stressed.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani in Davos.

They stressed the existence of common historical and cultural roots between Azerbaijan and Iran.

The presidents said there were wide opportunities for development of neighborhood and friendly relations between the two countries and peoples.

The Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents expressed confidence that cooperation between the two
countries would continue to expand in various fields, including politics, economy, energy and culture.

During the conversation, presidents Ilham Aliyev and Hassan Rouhani expressed confidence that both sides would increase their efforts for strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran.

They also discussed defining the concrete directions for expansion of the bilateral bonds even further.

They noted there were good prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and France in a variety of fields, and hailed the role of the GDF Suez in development of these ties.

President Ilham Aliyev and Gerard Mestrallet also praised the activity of GDF Suez on the “Absheron” gas field, and discussed issues of cooperation in other areas.

They noted that Azerbaijan`s rapid economic development created good opportunity for enhancing the bonds between the two countries.

The two presidents expressed confidence that mutual investments would be further expanded.

President Ilham Aliyev and PM Mark Rutte exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended Eurasia: The Next Frontier? session as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The session, most of whose participants attended the World Economic Forum Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the South Caucasus and Central Asia in Baku last year, addressed several dimensions, including diversifying the region's economic base, fostering inclusion in global supply chains, and enhancing cross-border trade.

The Head of State addressed the session and then responded to questions from the audience.

President Ilham Aliyev and Suma Chakrabarti expressed confidence that the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development would continue to develop.
