For now, feast your eyes and control your drooling, as the 2nd International Dolma Festival has kicked off in Azerbaijan's picturesque region Khachmaz.

The public figures, representatives of culture and science, and diplomatic missions participate at the event, Trend Life reported.

More than 300 varieties of dolma -- Azerbaijanis' favorite dish offered something for every palate -- were presented by country's forty regions.

Stuffed vine leaves (yarpag dolmasi) are one of the most popular types of dolma. Meat dolmas are usually served with sauce.

To make dolmas, people also stuff zucchini, eggplant, tomato, or cabbage. The dish is traditionally stuffed with ground lamb and/or beef, rice, onions, and herbs.

Besides foreign chefs presented their varieties of this delicious food.

The Mexican Embassy in Azerbaijan also took part at the festival with their own stand. They offered the visitors a chance to taste Mexican national dish tamale.

This dish is made of masa or dough which is steamed in a corn husk or banana leaf.

The best works were awarded special prizes. The foodies enjoyed colorful concert program with participation of folklore collectives.

The first International Dolma Festival was organized in Baku in 2016. Co-organized by the Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry, National Culinary Center, Azerbaijani National Culinary Association and Absheron District Executive Power, the event brought together about 400 representatives from Azerbaijan’s 24 regions, as well as from Turkey, Ukraine and Jordan.
