Russian gymnast wins gold at FIG World Cup in Baku [PHOTO]

Russian female gymnast Arina Averina won a gold medal in the all-around exercise at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku Apr. 29.

Averina scored a total of 71.250 points in four exercises. Another Russian female gymnast, Aleksandra Soldatova, won a silver medal with a score of 70.800 points, and the third place was shared by Neviana Vladinova from Bulgaria and Alina Gornosko from Belarus with a score of 68.400 points.

Azerbaijani female gymnasts Zhala Piriyeva and Zohra Aghamirova scored 61.850 and 60.200 points and took the 12th and 14th places, respectively.

The second day of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup kicked off in Baku Apr. 29. The competitions are being held at the National Gymnastics Arena. Ninety-four gymnasts from 21 countries are participating in the event.
