The Brazil World Cup organisers went all out to put on a breathtaking show in the World Cup closing ceremony. Colour, beautiful people, VIPs, music, the works. And the cherry on the ceremonial cake was without doubt Shakira.
The Colombian singer rocked out the Rio de Janeiro Maracaná stadium prior to the big game, topping a party whose main element was the Samba.
The chorus line "la la la" of the song 'Dare' sang by the Colombian singer sent everyone wild. The stadium was only half full when Shakira came out onto the stage, at the centre of a gigantic Brazil flag covering the pitch, but the crowd's cheers on seeing her were deafening.
The rest of the ceremony, which lasted 18 minutes, was well received by the locals, but left the Argentinian and German fans largely unimpressed with the spectacle put on by the Samba dancers.
