Azerbaijan's state customs committee organized an exhibition on Azerbaijan's customs and protection of cultural heritage at the UN Office in Vienna.
Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Aydin Aliyev, Azerbaijan's ambassador to Austria and permanent representative of the UN Office at the Vienna Fuad Ismayilov and representative of UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) John Sandage made a speech at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition features a number of art works, including manuscripts, ancient books, examples of numismatics and carpets confiscated by Azerbaijan`s State Customs Committee.

Aydin Aliyev said the State Customs Committee backs scientific-research projects and realizes joint researches with Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. He noted the Customs Committee has a museum after national leader Heydar Aliyev, who made great contribution to formation and development of Azerbaijan's customs.

Touching upon Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mr. Aliyev said “as a result of occupation of our lands, Azerbaijan can't control those areas. Armenians destroy cultural monuments in Nagorno-Karabakh or illegally deliver them to other countries”.

He stressed exhibits on display belong to not only Azerbaijan but also to the world's cultural heritage, adding “this is a striking example of Azerbaijan`s contribution to world cultural heritage”.
