Sumgait to host seminar “Our Heritage- Our Folklore”

A seminar on subject “Our Heritage- Our Folklore” will be arranged at the Sumgait State University on Dec.19.  “MIRAS” Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage holds cultural heritage seminars in different educational and cultural places since November, 2010.

The events are aimed to deliver ancient history and rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan to the scientific community and intellectual environment; support comprehensive development of the society’s knowledge and world outlook on Azerbaijani history and culture; increase interest in cultural places; define the problems existing in this area.

Niyazi Namazov, Doctor of Philosophy in History; chairman of MIRAS Social Organization, Fariz Khalilli; staff of  Institute of Folklore of NASA will report at the seminar and followed by discussions over the topic. Terekeme Charshanba” film produced by the MIRAS Social Organization will be also presented to the participants. Teachers and students of SSU, the interested youth, scholars and mass media representatives are invited to the seminar.
