Today marks the 71st birthday of late famous Azeri jazzman

Today the museum house of famous Azerbaijani jazzman Vagif Mustafazade will mark his 71st birthday. Vagif Mustafazade was one of the most popular jazzmen in the world.

The event will bring together pupils of musical schools No. 1 and 2, composers and jazzmen.

Vagif Mustafazade created a new course in jazz- jazz-mugam.

He is the laureate of festivals "Tallin-66", "Tallin-67" and "Jazz-69". "Tbilisi-78" brought him the name of "the best pianist".

Vagif Mustafazade passed away in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) on Dec. 16, 1979 on a stage while performing composition "Awaiting Aziz". He was just 39 years old.
