Azerbaijani film shortlisted for Nika award

The chairman of Union of Cinematographers, People`s writer and filmmaker Rustam Ibrahimbayov's Through the Eyes of a Ghost movie has been shortlisted for the Russian Nika award in the “The best film of Baltic Sea and CIS countries” nomination .

Rustam Ibrahimbayov`s film has been selected as one of four finalists among 14 movies.

The Nika Award is a prestigious annual ceremony held by the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences which was established in 1987 in Moscow, Russia by Yuli Gusman, and ostensibly modelled on the Academy Awards Oscars. Russian Academy Award takes its name from Nike, the goddess of victory.

Accordingly, the prize is modeled after the sculpture of the Winged Victory of Samothrace.
