Kiev is getting ready to host the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster has revealed the logo and slogan for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, Eurovision.tv reported.

The slogan of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest will be Celebrate Diversity.

"The notion of celebrating diversity builds on last year’s theme of ‘Come Together’ and is at the heart of Eurovision values: it is all-inclusive and all about countries around Europe, and beyond, joining together to celebrate both our common ground and our unique differences, as well as some great music", said Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Jon Ola Sand.

The core message for the 2017 Eurovision will be complimented by a creative logo design inspired by the Namysto, a traditional Ukrainian bead necklace.

Namysto is a protective amulet and a symbol of beauty and health. It is made up of many different beads, each with its own design and celebrates both diversity and individuality. Each bead on this jewelry has its own unique design and shape to symbolise a message:; all of us are truly unique, and entwined by the common connection of our love for music.

"The logo cleverly combines traditional and modern elements, reflecting Ukrainian society and the main leitmotif of Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv. We are delighted that two of Ukraine’s best creative agencies, Republique and Banda, united to produce this year’s slogan and design", said Executive Producer for UA:PBC Victoria Romanova.

Forty-three countries will participate in the 2017 contest that will take place in the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, following Ukraine's victory at the 2016 contest in Stockholm with the song "1944", performed by Jamala.

This will be the second time the contest has taken place in Kiev, after 2005, and the fourth Eurovision event.

The contest is expected to consist of two semi-finals on May 9 and 11 May and the final on 13 May 2017.

Diana Hajiyeva will represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision 2017 Song Contest.

The decision was made at a jury meeting on the Eurovision song contest. Diana Hajiyeva, known by her stage name Dihaj, is a singer based in Baku who is known more recently for her experimental-pop style of music.
