Magical sounds of Spanish poetry reach Baku

Spanish music is some of the best known and most respected in the whole world, attracting more and more audience to it.

Spanish music is often associated with traditional styles such as flamenco and classical guitar. While these forms of music are common, there are many different traditional musical and dance styles across the regions. 

This week, the magical sounds of Spanish music reached Azerbaijan, the miraculous  country located on the crossroads of the East and the West.

The Rashid Behbudov State Song Theatre in Baku hosted an evening of Spanish music, songs and poetry, Trend Life reported.

The amazing concert was held as part of the literary project "Word". The purpose of the literary project was to get acquaintance with the works of Azerbaijani and foreign poets and writers, the raise of awareness to literature.

Charge d'affaires of Spain to Azerbaijan  Jose Luis Díez highlighted  the importance of the event. He stressed successful cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Spain.

Further, the students of Azerbaijan University of Languages and Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli performed the works by Spanish poets, writers and composers.

Spain recognized Azerbaijan's independence in December 1991. Diplomatic relations were established in February 1992. The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to about $158.4 million in 2012.
