Event dedicated Karabakh held in Italy

Milan has hosted an "Voglio essere in Karabakh ora" (I want to be in Karabakh) dedicated to the history and culture of the ancient land of Azerbaijan, Karabakh, which is currently under Armenian occupation.

The event was organized Khan Shushinsky Foundation with the assistance of the State Support Council to NGOs under the Azerbaijani president. The event was attended by prominent public figures, representatives of culture, art and science, diplomatic missions and the Azerbaijani diaspora.

Head of the Foundation, Beyimhanum Verdiyeva-Javanshirova and Head of the Azerbaijan-Italy Culture Association, Mais Nuriyev spoke about the aim of the event, noting that the key goal is to bring the truth about Karabakh to the world community.

The speakers informed the guests about the history of Karabakh, its ancient culture, art, literature, the everyday life of its citizens before the region was occupied by Armenia. The guests were also informed about the horrors of the occupation and genocide in Khojaly, as well as presented with books and literary publications about Karabakh.

The evening was followed by a concert program with the participation of mugham singer and Azerbaijan’s Artist, Fikret Verdiyev, honored artist, Elshan Huseynov and Ehtiram Mansurov, Sevinj Saryeva and others. There were also dances and theatrical performances devoted to the Khojaly tragedy. The performances were greeted with applauses.
