The exhibition of works by famous Ukrainian artist Leonid Litvin took place January 15 in Kiev at the residence of ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma. The exhibition was organized by “Ukraina” Foundation led by Leonid Kuchma in partnership with the National Museum named after Taras Shevchenko.
The exhibition was initiated by the Ukrainian office of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). Continuing the tradition of the 19th century philanthropy in Azerbaijan, SOCAR transferred funds to purchase the paintings by famous artist to the President's Fund and organize the exhibition. Some 38 paintings of the artist have been transferred to the National Museum named after Taras Shevchenko.
Addressing the event, Leonid Kuchma spoke about close cooperation between the Foundation and SOCAR’s Ukrainian branch, and expressed sincere gratitude SOCAR for the good will and patronage.
Head of SOCAR - Ukraine Elchin Mammadov spoke about the strategic level of partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, described social and charity projects conducted by SOCAR here. According to Mammadov, SOCAR makes regular contributions to the development of cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
At the end of the event, Leonid Kuchma asked the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Eynulla Madatly to convey very best greetings to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He also gave an exclusive interview to the Azerbaijan’s State Television (AzTV.)
