“American son-in-law” comedy staged in Baku

“American son-in-law”, a comedy by Azeri composer Ramiz Mirishli was staged at the Azerbaijan State Theatre of Musical Comedy as part of the 9th Congress of Azerbaijani Composers` Union.

Marat Hagverdiyev wrote libretto for the stage play. People`s artist of Azerbaijan Ilham Namig Kamal is a production director, and Zakir Agayeva and Leyla Agayev are choreographers of the comedy.

The art director of the performance is Nabat Samedova. The plot of the comedy has a real life subject: a young couple loves each other but the girl`s mother opposites them wanting her daughter to marry a rich man. The young man discovering this pretends as oil magnate foreigner. Leading roles of the play: Ilham Namig Kamal, Fatma Mahmudova, honored artists – Khanim Qafarova, Akbar Alizade and others.
