Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Public Television sign MoU over Eurovision 2012 Song Contest

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation within preparations for the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest to be held in Baku in May 2012.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation accepted the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company's appeal for support in organizing and holding the Eurovision Song Contest and agreed to direct its great experience in organization of international events at this project, which is of great importance for Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

Organizational activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which has supported the project from the very beginning of Azerbaijan's participation at the Eurovision Song Contest, played an important role in Azerbaijan's successful representation at this contest.

The Eurovision Song Contest is also an important event to better introduce Azerbaijan's rich history and cultural heritage to the world. In this regard, cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which implements huge projects in social, cultural, educational and other spheres, is important both in organizational and promotion terms.

The memorandum envisages organizing and holding various cultural events and involving specialists, suitably decorating Baku for the contest, organizing traditional social programs such as "Eurovillige" and "Euroclub" within the "Eurovision" Song Contest, as well as assisting in involvement of volunteer teams.
