
Azerbaijan is an important partner of Kazakhstan, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said on Monday at a meeting with the heads of several leading media outlets of the CIS countries, who arrived in Astana to attend the Forum of European and Asian Media (FEAM). The meeting was also attended by Trend Agency Director General.
"Azerbaijan is an important partner of Kazakhstan. It is important for us to cooperate with Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea issues and hydrocarbons transportation," Masimov said commenting on dynamics of cooperation between the two countries.
He said the traditional routes through which Kazakhstan transports hydrocarbons in full amount through Russia are very important for the country, but "other routes of transportation of energy resources and commodities, particularly, through Azerbaijan are very important for us". "We are trying to use also territory of other states, including China," Masimov added.
He said Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are similar in terms of development dynamics, and the Kazakh side is interested in further cooperation.
