Baku hosts Azerbaijan-Russia business forum

An Azerbaijan-Russia business forum has been held in Baku as part of the Astrakhan Governor`s Azerbaijan visit. Astrakhan oblast presented its trade and economic opportunities at the event. Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov informed participants about Azerbaijan investment opportunities.

He said Azerbaijan-Russia relations were steady developing. The Deputy Minister also added the country`s economy were developing dynamically as a result of the successful policy of President Ilham Aliyev. Governor of Russia`s Astrakhan Region Aleksandr Zhilkin highlighted economic relations and development prospects for cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Zhilkin said Astrakhan oblast was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the fields of industry, shipbuilding, agriculture, building, tourism and culture. The meeting also discussed expansion of relationship between businessmen of Astrakhan and Azerbaijan. The forum brought together ministers, officials of Astrakhan oblast, businessmen and Russian ambassador to the country Vladimir Dorokhin.

The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Foundation.
