Azerbaijani mobile operators to ensure customers electronic registration

Azerbaijani mobile operators - Azercell, Bakcell, and Azerfon - will have to ensure electronic registration by customers within three months of making a purchase, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry told Trend.

Operators must prepare the necessary technical infrastructure to keep all user information in the database for an extended period. The main purpose of this action is to prevent terrorist acts and deliberate dissemination of false information.

Operators must regularly send information about their subscribers to the computer center’s central server, under the Ministry.

All three operators must provide administrative support to establish trade unions within their respective structures.
