Azerbaijan increases defense industry production in the first half of 2011

Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry held series of visiting board meetings dedicated to the outcomes of the first half of 2011, press service of the ministry said.

The meetings chaired by Minister Yaver Jamalov focused attention on the production, financial and economic activity of the ministry’s organizations and enterprises, which doubled their production in first six months of 2011 in comparison with the relevant period of the last year.

The measures considered by the State Defense Order Program 2011 continued to be implemented. Defense industry production was increased for 11.2 times in comparison with the relevant period of the last year. Defense production was increased for 3.7 times and civil products – 14%.

The defense industry organizations and enterprises made their reports and were entrusted with a task to facilitate implementation of the State Defense Order Program and other prognosis indexes.
