
The film crew of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program came to Azerbaijan, the Baku office of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) reported.
The purpose of the visit is to make documentary movie about CAREC. The documentary film will be viewed at the CAREC Ministerial Conference in November 2011, in Baku to demonstrate the program’s achievements for the last 10 years.
In Azerbaijan, the crew will film mostly transport and trade facilitation projects that support CAREC corridor linking Baku and Georgian border including road, rail, and port projects.
"It’s very exciting to be in Azerbaijan to witness and film the tremendous progress of the CAREC program," Senior Producer, AsiaWorks Television Company Limited Craig Robert Knowles said, commenting on their visit to Baku. "We are looking forward to our time in this fascinating part of the world."
The documentary about the CAREC Program 2001-2011 will be filmed in all CAREC member countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, People's Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The documentary will be filmed in capital cities, rural landscapes, and relevant project sites along the CAREC Corridors. The film will demonstrate effectiveness of the CAREC program and how it has significantly contributed to the regional economy and people’s prosperity.
