AZAL plans to launch direct flights to USA from 2014

The Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plans to launch direct flights to USA from 2014, vice president of the Closed Stock-Joint Company Eldar Hajiyev said

The official noted he is happy with the delivery of the new Boeing-767-300 ER liner on June 2, Day of Civil of Aviation of Azerbaijan.

According to Hajiyev, the new Boeing-767-300 ER can fly 12200 km. This will enable Azerbaijan Airlines to operate flights to the most distant cities around the world.

Azal will buy another such type of the liner in 2012 and two Boeing-787 Dreamliners in 2014. After the purchase of a Boeing-787, direct flights to the USA will be launched.
