The Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry recommends that citizens demand the right to sign a bilateral contract when obtaining a tourist package, the ministry said on Thursday.
Also, the ministry recommends that citizens inquire from tourist companies about the services that they intend to use while giving foreign tours versus the permissions that the ministry licenses provide.
As the Head of the Study, Work, Statistics and Licensing Sector of the Tourism Ministry, Rahman Orujlu said earlier that in 2010 the ministry received five complaints of various types about tourist companies.
He said that while some of the complaints were resolved after the ministry’s intervention, the rest were sent to judicial authorities for processing.
There are currently 214 licensed tourism companies in Azerbaijan.
