
Azerbaijan is planning to increase the production of defense goods on public contracts by 4.7%, said Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov at the ministry’s board meeting dedicated to the outcomes of the first quarter of 2011.
Outcomes of the production, financial and economic activities, as well as further duties were discussed at the meeting chaired by Minister Jamalov.
Minister said defense industry increased the production of defense goods more than 11 times and civil goods by 32,3% as against the similar period of 2010 the according to the deals signed with the security and defense agencies.
"This year we are planning to produce 107 products on 86 themes and it will cover 214 phases. The defense industry should mobilize all its potential to fulfill important duties for supplying the armed forces with modern ammunitions and equipments", said the minister.
Reports of the heads of offices and associations were heard at the meeting and recommendations were made on fulfillment of the public contracts program and other prognosis indicators.
