SCC chairman calls staffs not to deceive state

Several businessmen engaging in car import from abroad indicate the prices of cars in the declaration lower to avoid the customs duty, chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev informed.

According to him, now, any person can enter the official site of committee to calculate the duty and excise tax for any car. AT the same time, he noted that, some businessmen indicate the prices lower to avoid the duties. According to him, special experts operate in Motor transport Customs Department to prevent such cases and they estimate the car: "It’s impossible that BMW X5 and Lexus cars are estimated at $ 2000 or 4-5000. However, they complain that why these cars are not officialized. Because of BMW X5 and Lexus are not estimated at these prices".

He also noted that, in fact, these cars are estimated at higher prices: "They sign a contract in abroad to indicate the prices lower. It’s impossible. There must be transparency and they have to provide transparency".
